Hanepoot & the Biggish Band (formerly known as the Jazz Workshop Biggish Band) will be performing at the Joseph Stone Auditorium, Klipfontein Rd, Athlone on Saturday August 6, as part of the Jazz Concert presented by the Athlone Academy Of Music. Also on the bill will be Bazil & Clifford Moses, Mark Fransman & his band, Nick Le Roux, Maude Damons, Vincent Kolbe, Gary Hendricks & Errol Dyers. Word has it that the Cape Doctor himself, none other than Robbie Jansen, has recovered enough from his recent illness to be able to perform again, and he will also be playing on Saturday. Now that in itself is enough reason to drop everything else, and get down to Joseph Stone!! The Biggish Band will play 1 set of original compositions and some new arrangements of great South African Standards. It's an early-ish event and the concert will run from 18h00 until about 21h00, with entrance being a mere R40.
